Mid Week Tease: “He wouldn’t weaken her.” #MWTease

MWTease15Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope everyone is doing great!

It’s been a few crazy weeks since I posted to MWTease last but things have settled and I’m back to work full time!

Special thanks to Sandra Bunino for rallying authors together to share teases every week.

~~~~~~~
This week’s tease comes from STIRRING UP DIRTY, book 1 of “Stirred by Love” seriesand connected to DARE — recently contracted and coming soon with Evernight Publishing.
This has not gone into edits yet, so any errors are my own and fixed soon!  Here, Candy has gone to the storage room to help her friend Melissa grab some items for the bar that are needed. Unbeknownst to her, she’s locked herself in with Melissa’s brother, Eric…who is a handful!! And the last man she should be attracted to!!!
“I need that red box there brought down. The blue one beside it too. They aren’t heavy, just napkins.”
She nodded and lifted her arms. In her six inch heels it was hard to reach so high, and she widened her stance for better balance. The tips of her fingers eased the red box closer to the edge for her to grab the sides. She lowered it and set it on the stack of cases he had on the cart.
“I’m glad I can help. Melissa looked a bit frazzled out there. She is a hard worker.”
He coughed. “We all grew up working hard.”comingsoon
Candy reached for the blue box and nodded. “It seems like a great family unit that you all have.” Crap, this one was a bit farther back. She felt a breeze cross her skin as her top rose, baring her midriff. She wobbled on her heels. Shit. That’s all she needed was to fall on her ass while in a skirt and look like a fool.
Warm hands suddenly circled her waist. Gasping, she drew in a deep breath and grabbed onto the shelf with both hands as he touched her.
“Easy there, darlin’. Those heels aren’t exactly made for working.” His hot breath washed over her neck. Hot currents spread along her skin, igniting and firing to life.
God damn, god damn.
This wasn’t on the agenda tonight, or when she planned to come here. She didn’t have time for distractions. Especially not a sizzling hot attractive man who made her want to scream to fuck her.
“Umm, I guess I hadn’t planned on working tonight. But uhh…” Frig, she sounded like a bumbling idiot. “I could almost reach this one.” Eric moved in closer against her, his right hand easing across her stomach while the right closed over hers on the shelf.
“You’re not exactly the type of woman to be back here working like this.”
“I’m not?” Her question came out squeaky, and she hated how weak she sounded. She grit her teeth as his palm burned through her skirt. She wanted to close her stance and rub her thighs together. Need coursed through her, warming her from the inside out.
“No you’re not.”
“I don’t mind hard work.”
“You’re a woman who shouldn’t get her hands dirty. Nor lift anything to heavy. You should be catered to and worshipped.”
She let out a soft laugh. “Hardly. But I don’t think that’s how you really see me is it? You see me as a weak female who needs a man to take care of her.”
She glanced his way. He inched closer to her then closer still. Jesus why wouldn’t her feet move? They seemed glued to the floor and she couldn’t handle him any closer.
“Oh you need a man to take care of you, all right.” His chin skimmed along her shoulder. She shivered and gripped the shelf tighter. “You think I can’t smell your arousal in here?” he ground out on a harsh whisper.
She gasped and tried to pull away. No. He wouldn’t weaken her. Not in here. But his chest aligned with her back, pressing his dick against her ass.
His breath warm against the back of her neck, she closed her eyes. Warm, hard, strong, his heat protected her while it held her captive.
“The moment I saw you in this cloth of a skirt and tight shirt, my dick got hard, Candy.” He pushed forward, confirming his words. “And I knew I couldn’t let you out of here without touching you.” He slid his fingers up her thigh, pushing beneath the hem of her skirt, and brushing back and forth. “Your skin is so soft.” He nipped the back of her neck with his teeth.
She trembled. This was a very bad idea. Being in here with him, allowing him to explore her further, couldn’t—wouldn’t—do her any favors.
Coming soon!!!! *g*
Mid Week Tease: “…straight up or dirty?” #MWTease
MWTease15Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope everyone is doing great!
Special thanks to Sandra Bunino for rallying authors together to share teases every week.
~~~~~~~

This week’s tease comes a story I am finished and just polishing up. It’s connected to DARE, and is Candy’s story. Once I’m done all the fixing up I can, I’ll be submitting it, thinking the end of this week.

Candy has just hit town, and met the local bartender who…well let’s just say, she’s not used to men like him …

“Ma’am?”
His husky tone pulled her from her thoughts.
She let out a light laugh. “Sorry. Daydreaming. Yes please. And…” Gulping down the last drops of her drink, she slid it across toward him. “Don’t call me ma’am. I’m not that old.”
He shrugged and nodded when the man a couple seats over, tipped his empty glass toward the bartender. Grabbing up an empty glass, the bartender pulled on the tap and filled it with beer. Candy shuddered. She hated beer. The saying “beer tastes like horse piss” ran through her mind making her chuckle. She’d never tasted horse piss but she supposed it was as good of a description as any. Who’d ever had the guts to try the animal urine must have been out of their mind.WIP
“You’re a woman. It’s polite to use ma’am if I don’t know your name,” the bartender commented and set the beer down in front of his customer. Grabbing her glass, he rinsed it and set it in front of him.
“Did my brother make it straight up or dirty?”
“Pardon me?” The word dirty coming from his lips was like a jalapeno pepper in her mouth…hot, powerful, and rich.
“Your daiquiri. Drew and I don’t always make drinks the same. Wondered how he made yours. I tend to make them dirtier than he does.”
Ice water is what she needed, not another aggressive alcoholic beverage. There was no way in hell she could resist.
“His tasted straight up I guess. Why don’t you make mine as dirty as you’d like?” Brow arching, she grinned. His delectable lips twitched, and he started mixing.
“Are there some secret ingredients in there I should know about?”
His tanned hands moved fast, lifting this bottle and that, adding a couple green leaves, and shaking some red powder into a blender. The strawberries were added last.
Impressive. She’d never witnessed a place that used fresh ingredients like this.
“I never share my secrets,” he winked.
Spectacular. He was even better looking playful and enjoying his work.
“How long have you been working here? You seem pretty great at your job.” To her own ears it sounded like an asinine compliment, but she was trying to make conversation. Anything to spend more time with him.
“About thirty-some years. Been working here since my stepdad owned it.”
Ahh, right. The stepdad. She knew about the connection. Now wasn’t the time to get into that.
“I’ll warn you though, darlin’,” After emptying the contents of the blender into her glass, he set it down in front of her and leaned against it on his elbows. “It is pretty potent. Spicy and might make the hair on your arms stand up. But it’s satisfying and very pleasurable.”
She’d bet a lot of money that many things he did would be pleasurable and satisfying.
Lifting the glass, she stared at him and took a healthy sip.
Hmm, potent and very warm. Minty and…was that cinnamon she tasted among the many strawberries? And perhaps a faint taste of ginger? What a glorious and refreshing version of a simple daiquiri.
“Wow,” she took another sip. Then another.
“You like?” He leaned in closer, his light yellow eyes twinkling.
“Definitely. I like it very much.” Candy inched forward. “So delicious. The tongue started tingling, then the burst of all those flavors exploded.
“Right in my mouth,” As she whispered the last part, he narrowed his eyes, then grinned. “I aim to please.” With that, he nodded to a customer at the other end of the bar. He stopped at the end counter beneath the long lines of bottles and hauled out a large bag.
Men didn’t walk away from her often. She fought the urge to take her compact from her purse and check herself over.

Contemp Erotic Romance

Contemp Erotic Romance

Since writing DARE a couple of years ago, it’s been on my resolution lists to finally tell Candy’s story. But so far it hasn’t happened. Thankfully, it is a resolution coming true this year!!!!

I’ve had a lot of readers ask if Candy, as well as a couple other secondary characters, would get her/their own stories. I’m a writer who likes her characters to talk to me completely before jumping in to start typing. And to be honest, Candy has been one of the hardest women to work with. She’s nattered a bit, here and there, and just when I get a smidge of an idea on what she is up to, she shuts up, goes back to her modeling gigs and ignores me completely. It’s been difficult to say the least but she’s finally starting talking, which is good news. Well, at least pretty good news…though now she won’t shush up and let me think when I need to. Not even when I’ve been down with a cold. LOL

Candy has been up to a lot but in her story — not yet named — she’s just about at the end of her “peak” as far as age and what the modeling world is looking for nowadays. Enter a hot bartender — also not named. So *** are placeholders for him LOL — who isn’t too impressed with her wealth, her smart mouth or her desire to contract his sister to be the next “top model” for the world.

There’s a lot of dialogue so far, a lot of toe-to-toe arguments along with some very heated moments. Candy handles herself well, isn’t too crazy about the small town where everyone knows your name and won’t let a man dictate to her.

I think readers will love revisiting Candy and a few of the other characters. And I hope to have the story done in the next few wks. Yes, the hero will have a name by then!! LOL
I’ll keep you posted on the story’s progress, when it is submitted, etc.

If you’d like to enjoy DARE again, and meet the Saucy Candy, you’ll find all book links HERE.
