Guarding His Anchor Excerpt:
Charlie closed her eyes and leaned against the door. Tonight had resolved nothing. She’d tried to let Neal down easy, but everything she’d said had gone over his fucking head. Confusion rioted in her skull, throbbing non-stop.

A shift of movement caught her attention, startling her. She opened her eyes and lifted her head, standing tall, on the defense.

Oh, for crying out loud!

All she needed tonight was Frank Shaw in her house, staring at her with anger spitting fire from his eyeballs.

But there he was, eyeing her open collar and cleavage, fists bunched at his sides.

Frustration, sexual and otherwise thanks to him showing up when she least expected, curled around her like molten lava spilling from a volcano.

If he wanted a fight, he’d come to the right place.

“What the hell are you doing sneaking into my house?” she demanded, stomping toward him.

“Calm down. Vikki called, asked me to hang some fucking curtains. She said you were at the bar.”

“Can’t you think up a better excuse than that?”

His eyes roamed over her from head to toe. Damn that spark in his eyes when he gazed at her like that. Anger turned to potent hunger in seconds flat, watching her as if she were the prey and he the hunter … She swallowed hard.

“If I’d known you were home and … busy, I wouldn’t have bothered. Vikki said the back door was open.”

“I’ll talk to her about that.” Charlie sighed, then walked into the kitchen. “Her room is across the hall, last door on the right.”

Undeterred, he followed her. “Hot date, huh?”

“None of your business.” He was the very last person in the world she wanted to discuss Neal with.

He leaned on the island in the center of the room. “I guess Vikki wasn’t even aware you had a date tonight.”

No doubt Vikki didn’t cared anyway. She was Team Charlie and Frank, and Charlie wouldn’t be surprised if her pal had planned the whole thing. Hang curtains, indeed. At this time of night? Without running it past the owner, her roommate? Charlie suspected Vikki was up to no good.

“Doesn’t matter.” Charlie put the last of the wine in the fridge, grabbed a cloth, and cleaned the counters. “You can do it tomorrow when I’m at work. Good-night.” Focused on one spot, she scrubbed hard, hoping he’d take the suggestion.

“You look beautiful.” His soft comment skimmed along her ear as he moved in behind her.

“Frank, don’t. I just had another guy here, for heaven’s sake.”

“Doesn’t matter. It sure didn’t end the way he thought. I know when you’ve been fucked good and satisfied and when you’re not.”

#ReleaseBlitz – Shopping for A Billionaire’s Honeymoon by Julia Kent #RomCom (@CW1985)

New Release!!
Book 11 in the Shopping Serieskent2Release date: January 31, 2017
Genre: Romantic Comedy, Contemporary Romance

Description:

He is addicted to his phone and his new role as CEO. I’m addicted to getting some on my own honeymoon.

One of these things is not like the other.

I am pretty sure a serial killer’s lair is the only place in the world where I could stash my new husband so he can’t manage the acquisition of our new company.

And that seems a little drastic.

But only a little…

All I want is one week alone with him. Hours in bed, legs tangled together in ecstasy, room service and long walks on the beach in Hawaii.

Not vying for his kisses around a Bluetooth microphone. The Borg aren’t sexy in real life.

So I’m taking matters into my own hands and hitting “reboot” on our honeymoon.

We’re going to a place so remote that no one can find us.

Not even my mother.

Shopping for a Billionaire’s Honeymoon is now a full-length book of 150+ pages, with both Shannon and Declan’s points of view. Originally published with only Shannon’s viewpoint, this expanded edition is a result of reader feedback. People wanted to know what Declan was up to – so here you go. This book is meant to be read after Shopping for a Billionaire’s Wife and/or Shopping for a CEO’s Fiancée, but if you read it out of order (or even as a standalone), that’s fine. Shannon and Declan forgive you. 😉

Excerpt:

Shannon

Let’s do an inventory of this fine day. My day-after-I-got-married day. In Vegas.

After fleeing my Momzilla mother.

Today is supposed be Day One of my honeymoon after marrying the billionaire of my dreams.

(Let’s not count the night before).

Woke up to the lovely sight of my husband’s tousled dark hair sliding down my torso so he could feast on me for breakfast.

Had actual breakfast in bed after room service delivered mixed berries, cream, bacon, and maple-soaked carrot-cake french toast, and the best damn coffee on the planet from the coffee chain I now own.

Made love with my delightful husband in the giant jetted bathtub in our suite. Turns out I’m as bendy as a Cirque du Soleil performer when I need to be. Maybe Mom’s insistence that I attend all those yoga classes she teaches has a silver lining after all.

Dressed and prepared to hop the corporate jet for Hawaii, kisses interspersed between readying ourselves for the trip. Undressed twice. Dressed twice. Declan insisted I not wear panties for the plane trip.

“But I’m already a member of the Mile High Club,” I’d protested.

“Not as a wife.”

He had a point.

Panties abandoned.

Found his brother, my best friend, a former colleague and an Anterdec chauffeur all married to each other.

Notice something a little different about that last one?

Yeah. Me too.

Day One of my honeymoon had promise, but now? Now it’s a little too real.

We’re on the plane, settling into our seats, and I’m doing my best not to think about my poor best friend and her chaotic mess back at the Anterdec resort where Declan and I just spent nearly a week trying to figure out our entire life.

Which we did, successfully, to my utter surprise. After fleeing our wedding in a helicopter and lying to my Momzilla mother, we managed to get to Las Vegas, ensconced in a resort on the Vegas Strip that Declan had designed himself as an intern in college. By the time my crazy family caught up to us, we’d steeled ourselves for the inevitable fallout.

And got so much more than we expected, in more ways than one. We’re married now. Husband and wife.

That’s really all that matters.

That, and honeymoon sex.

Lots and lots and lots of honeymoon sex. It’s my wifely right to walk funny for the next few days.

And his husbandly duty to make it so.

Teaser:

Gerald awoke with a start, gasping into the strange box of reality, the room dark with shadows and filled with the scent of deeply anticipated horror.

“Oh, God,” he grunted, breathing erratic, heart in flames in the center of his chest.

That dream.

That f*cking dream.

He hadn’t had that dream about Suzanne in eight years.

Excerpt:

A flash of movement under a streetlight in the distance, at the nearest light, caught Gerald’s eye.

Suzanne.

Sprinting, he left Declan befuddled, calling out his name, until the light changed and he watched as Suzanne marched forward with that confident walk of hers, shoulders squared as if she were still in morning formation and wore a uniform, wiping her mouth with a tissue and muttering to herself. He knew how the curve of her spine felt under his palms when she stood like that, the supple feel of the paradox between soft skin and hard bone a delightful feast for his fingers.

“Wait!” he called out, unsure and unbidden, moving on pure instinct. He needed to touch her. Would die without making that single, simple connection. Not just in an intimate sense. The need was more than that.

Suzanne got to the curb and stopped. She did not turn around, her body poised, waiting.

Panting with the burst of exertion, his brain firing on all cylinders, he caught up to her and slowed down at the last steps, moving to her, pulled by a force that drew him in. His front settled against her back, his tight cotton t-shirt brushing against the thin linen jacket she wore, the friction erotic and full, sensual.

As his palms touched her elbows, her arms at her side, he inhaled with precision, measuring her.

She did not move.

“Suzanne,” he murmured, chin close to a stray hair that curled out from her updo, resting against the fine, creamy line of her neck. With longer hair, the sharp, jutting bones of her jaw stood out, giving her the look of a Viking princess. In heels, she was exactly his height, setting him off-kilter. He wasn’t a short man. In fatigues she was always four to five inches shorter. In service dress, her shoes gave her a two-inch lift.

He liked being equal. Liked it a lot.

“Please,” she whispered, the word spiraling off into the dark night, as if the street lights beyond them were pulling her voice to them.

Taking her reaction as something other than rejection, he left his hands where they were, closing the inch gap between them. She was cool and regal, his hot, thick chest pressing into her back.

“Please what?” he asked, knowing this could go either way, but not caring, because right now—as each second ticked by—he had more internal calm than he’d had in ten years.

Even as desire burned bright inside him.

“Please don’t.”

He froze.

“Don’t what?” Tempted to step back, he held strong. Her please carried a weight to it, a meaning he needed to discern before acting. All impulse and no analysis would end this in a flash. Time was his friend. Patience.

Hesitation.

He had to go against instinct.

“Don’t start something you don’t intend to finish.”

Excerpt:

“Something to drink, Miss?”

I looked up to see Florian smiling down at me. “Oh my gosh, what are you doing here? I thought you had the day off again.”

holidayhottie1m (1)He was wearing black shorts and a black t-shirt with the ship’s logo on it. The dark fabric made his own natural coloring stand out even more. He sat down on the edge of my lounger near my hip, seeming pleased I’d noticed his absence.

“Normally I would have the day off, but a friend of mine is sick and I’m covering his shift.” His eyes swept over my body as he spoke, and the glint of appreciation I saw in them made me feel good.

“Thanks again for your company yesterday,” I said in a low voice.

He smiled. “My pleasure.”

The tone of our simple words exchanged even more meaning between us. Having been single for so long I’d become a master of deciphering tone, and his was telling me he’d had the time of his life. He was so damn cute.

“So what can I get you? You look thirsty, and I wouldn’t be doing my job if I left you that way.” He was leaning toward me, his small round tray forgotten on the deck beside him.

I put an arm underneath my head and removed my sunglasses so I could make better eye contact. “What would you recommend?” My suggestive tone made his eyebrows rise and his cheeks dimple in pleasure.

Even though he was young and a member of the staff, I allowed myself to respond to his attentions. The pang of loneliness I felt at seeing John and Kim together reared its ugly head. What was wrong with getting a little attention? Why not have some fun on this trip? People flirted with each other all the time. And it was my turn to throw off my conservative chains and flex my sexy muscle.

He frowned as though deep in thought, considering the question. Then he exhaled and pointed at me. “You look like the kind of woman who enjoys not only fine wine but great gin as well. Our bartender makes a cocktail I think you would like. Not too sweet and just the right amount of tartness to it.” He said it the way car aficionados described legendary Porsches. I knew right away he was talking about himself.

He had it right on the nose. That was exactly my style. “I’ll give it a try.” My hand was on the chair next to his leg, and I fingered the bare, firm flesh of his thigh. I blamed my earlier glass of champagne for my loosened inhibitions. I sat forward and leaned in close to him. “Maybe the next time you’re off, we can hang out again.”

His eyes widened with pleasure. He opened his mouth to say something, but someone else cut in.

“Sorry to interrupt, but I wanted to see if I could order a couple of drinks.”

I turned my head to see John Montgomery standing behind my chair. From the amused look on his face, he’d heard everything I said. Mortification laced through me.

Florian jumped up. “Of course.”

John gave him his order, and Florian went to the bar. Then it was just John and me.

“Having fun, Ava?” He lifted a brow.

His eyes were hidden under the dark sunglasses he wore, but I got the meaning, the bastard. He was trying to embarrass me for flirting with Florian. I huffed at him and opened my magazine again, refusing to take the bait.

He tried again. “He’s a little young for you, isn’t he?”

“Hm. I think he’s the same age as Kim actually. If you don’t think that’s too young then I certainly don’t.” I allowed the sweet sound of disdain to roll off my lips, then I flipped over onto my stomach, excusing him.

He gave a soft chuckle. But he got the hint because he walked away.

So she learned to cope.

During her days she’s a paralegal in a prestigious firm. But by night, she’s an escort, addicted to dangerous situations, rough sex, and money. This is what she knows, what she craves, and what keeps her stable.

Ms. Perfection is kept happy because Ms. Whore keeps the darkness at bay.

Until she meets Royce Mattherson, L.A.’s most eligible bachelor, and billionaire. No that his life was much better. His past was just as dark, just as twisted, and they find that they can give each other those dirty moments. Love wasn’t supposed to be a part of it.

It never was.

Her heart is off limits, and he doesn’t have one to give. The found a way to break the rules anyway.

OHG Post Images_Synopsis

He thinks I’m his forever girl, I saw it in his eyes. I wished I could have slapped the look off his face and hit him with the same jarring finality I’d learned I didn’t mean shit.

I’m not a forever sort of girl.

I’m not even his for the night.

He’ll be lucky if I’m his for the next hour if he doesn’t pay me for it.

And then Royce Mattherson stormed my defenses. Took all the poison inside of me and pushed it out through my pores. He tasted the taint on my skin and still decided to love me. He terrifies me. Exhilarates me. Frustrates me.

And he always gets what he wants.

Always…

OHG Post Images_Excerpt

“No, I tried to give you something better than a simple fuck and you degraded yourself down to a lower level. If this is what you want, I’m more than willing to give it to you,” he said roughly and then slid a key card into the panel on the wall. The button with a P lit up and he pressed it. The glass misted so that we couldn’t see people on the other side. A neat trick. That hadn’t happened when I’d come before, although, I hadn’t been heading to the penthouse suite either.

“So that’s your excuse? Because you had your hands between my thighs before dinner it’s a problem? You have got to be shitting me,” I told him.

“You’ve got a dirty mouth, and I can think of much more nasty things you could be doing with it,” he snapped.

“Yeah, and I’m really good at them too. Want to see how far I can swallow you down? No gag reflex, big boy. I promise you’ll enjoy it. What if I lick your balls at the same time? One of your sophisticated sticks ever do that for you?”

“Shut up,” he roared at me, but I didn’t. He was a bastard, and I wanted him. I needed him, and he was making me feel cheap. So what if I was a whore, I was worth every fucking penny that I charged, but I was a woman. I knew who I was. I was strong, and I knew what I needed. He wasn’t going to scare me. Fuck him.

“Oh, Pretty Boy, you didn’t like that? Come on, baby, live a little.”

“Don’t call me that.” The words were harsh as he forced them out between his teeth.

“What Pretty Boy? Baby?” When his gaze narrowed I laughed. I didn’t know what was wrong with me. Hell, I didn’t even know where we’d gone wrong in the car. He’d enjoyed touching me. He liked the way I spiraled out of control. I’d loved it. And now he wanted to be a little shit.

Fuck him!

“How the hell did you survive long enough in you line of work to fucking get paid?” he asked me as the elevator stopped.

“Test my mouth and find out, baby.”

He roared. He stood in the middle of a room surrounded by glass, giving glimpses to the lit up city around them. In the center of the sophistication that only his type of money could buy, he roared. I stopped, staring at him.

“Did that hurt?” I taunted. He shouldn’t be able to be mad. He shouldn’t be able to toss me off like I was nothing. He chased me. He’d offered me triple my rate just to take me on dates for five nights and screw my brains out. He’d reached out after his fundraiser. I hadn’t asked him for a fucking thing.

“What the fuck is your problem? Huh? Who gives a fuck what I paid for tonight? Is it any different than taking you out to the restaurant, buying you gifts, parading your around before cameras to make you famous? Is paying you cash right in your hand for ass any different than me wanting to treat you like a woman that I want in my bed?”

He took two swift steps forward, and I stumbled back. He caught me in his hard arms, lifting me off the ground until we were face to face. I gripped his shoulders to keep my balance. My hair swirled around us. The strands fluttered over his nose, lifting and falling as he breathed roughly.

What was wrong with me?

I didn’t know how to do normal. I didn’t understand it. What he wanted was impossible.

“I can’t,” I said, not able to say the rest. I don’t know what he saw in my eyes as I fought the panic back. No, no, no, no. I couldn’t do this. He couldn’t touch my heart. That’s not where he was supposed to be. I refused.

“Put me down,” I begged him.

“You don’t want me to,” he said, and the wonder I saw cross his face had me fighting to get out of his arms. I couldn’t breathe. The walls were closing in. No. Not normal. I couldn’t be what he wanted. I couldn’t. I was filthy, used, tossed aside.

I was better for nothing more than a fuck.

He couldn’t see it, but he would. He had to see it. I knew it was right there on the surface.

“Look at me,” he urged, but I turned my face away as far as I could, feeling the strain in my neck. I clawed at his shoulder.

“Fuck me and get it over with,” I told him.

“Listen to yourself. You fighting to get out my arms but you’re telling me to take you. Do you think I can do that? Look at me!” he yelled.

I swung my head back to look at him. His face had softened, the anger gone. He lifted a hand and palmed my cheek. So tender. So soft. I couldn’t handle it. I shattered. Great sobs wracked me as he pulled me tighter into his arms, holding me close. My struggles meant nothing as he fell with me to the floor and rocked me. He slid off my shoes and curled me into his lap.

Royce Mattherson, one of the richest men in America, sat on the floor and rocked L.A.’s greatest whore. He was clean, sweet, and normal. He was cocky, rough, and domineering, but he held me like I was priceless. I couldn’t fight the tears, and I didn’t try to.
