Meet and Greet Monday: Amanda Ward

MGMondaysGood morning. It’s Meet and Greet Monday!
With us today is Romance Author, Amanda Ward.

Welcome, Amanda!

Tell us a bit about yourself. Where do you live, what’s do you like to do for fun?

Where do I start?  I live in Bedfordshire, England with my husband, 3 children and 2 gorgeous moggies.  For fun I like to read, social network, and have an Open University course studying the Humanities starting in October once the kids are all at school (Yay!) I’m a huge history/royal families of Europe buff and soak up books/films/documentaries about it to the despair of my husband.

What is your morning routine like? Let the pet out first? Stumble right to coffee pot for the boost to start your day? Head right to computer to answer email?
TEA! Has to be a mug of tea.  Sort kids out (who get up even earlier than me) and then check emails.

If we were to unexpectedly drop by for lunch, would you be embarrassed that you hadn’t vacuumed or that you were still in your PJs?
Laughing here.  I am currently in shorts and t-shirt due to having my right leg in plaster.  I broke it whilst on holiday in Scotland.  So take me as you find me. Kettle is in the kitchen if you pop round!

What is your favorite TV Show?
I have too many.  Possibly Gilmore Girls, Big Bang Theory and the Vicar of Dibley are ones I go back to time and time again. Together with the Waltons.

What do you find most challenging about writing?
Getting started and persevering with the story.

What is your # 1 pet peeve that drives you crazy?
My constant procrastination and noise especially from hubby and kids.  I go into mother/wife mode and switch off immediately from author.

No matter the story, where do you always draw inspiration from when you begin each story?
Possibly my own sense of humour.  Actors I find attractive, writing something I myself would want to read.

Did you always want to be an author?
Yep.  I’m lucky to have this opportunity so huge thanks to my publishers.

If you were to receive an all-expenses paid, five night trip to anywhere, where would you want to go?
Gosh. I guess I would like to go to Prince Edward Island or the town where Gilmore Girls was set.

How many stories are in your WIP folder?
Too many lol.  I have a notebook FULL of book ideas.
