Good morning. It’s Meet and Greet Monday!
With us today is Romance Author, Michaela Rhua.
Welcome, Michaela!
Tell us a bit about yourself. Where do you live, do you have a significant other, any young ones running around?
This is the point that I wish I had some sort of exciting life, full of tales of adventure and living the high life. But…no! I live in England, near London. My teenage children keep me busy, as well has my every day job. My dh works long hours so time is precious all round.
Tell us about your “big break” in the publishing world. Was there any one person believe in your work first (besides yourself of course)? What did you do to celebrate your first contract?
My first break, even though it was not published first was a story called Logan’s Captive, which was part of The Blood Bar Chronicles book 3, The Enforcers. It was an anthology of stories over 3 books that my critique group, who blog as The Nuthouse Scribblers wrote together. It was published by Breathless Press.
Name one quirk you have.
Pens and Stationary. I love it!
What is your favorite junk food?
Chocolate.
What do you like to do for fun and relax?
Read, share a bottle of red wine with friends, the usual I suppose.
What five items do you take everywhere with you – besides cell phone, keys and purse/wallet?
Note pad, pens, mints, tissues and chocolate.
If we were to come over to your house for dinner, what dish would you make us?
Hmmm, maybe an Indian meal.
Have you ever thrown a book you’ve been reading against the wall because you couldn’t finish it?
No, I am one of those who must get to the end!
No matter the story, where do you always draw inspiration from when you begin each story?
Images. I love looking at pictures and places like Pinterest is fabulous to spark ideas.
Did you always want to be an author?
Yes, as a teenager I wrote short stories for friends. Adult life kicked in and writing got kicked out until recently.
What do you find most challenging about writing?
Getting started is the hardest part. Trying to carve out time, getting in the right mood and trying to find a quiet space is something I struggle with.

A Writer’s Journey:
All writer’s go on a journey when penning their book and each journey is very different. Some start with characters who plant themselves in your head and refuse to let go, others with a place that is so vivid and clear or maybe an emotion that slowly emerges that you have to follow until you find the source. There are many ways a journey starts and these are but a few. For me the start is always different. With my newest release, Mated Forever it was a full moon night and a scent floating in the air that catches someone’s attention. Where to now? Well, I suppose it could have been a male wolf who chases the scent and then find the woman who will become his. No, this did not feel right so it had to be a female wolf who finds the one who will become hers – another female.
So that is how it started for me. That is how Mated Forever began.
Then the rest of the journey commences…which direction should this one go? Is there passion from the start, a defiant character, tragedy, adventure or mystery? Each writer weaves their own path. I like a mixture of different things to happen – mystery, adventure and passion.
Then there are other characters that join the journey. This time something different happened – they all had stories of their own to tell. Norah, who is Jorie’s mother has faced hardship and now has the opportunity to make her own decisions. Donal, is alone and maybe he will find a mate along the way and how about the bad guy, Malachi? Do all villain’s stay that way or can they be redeemed? Maybe he can.
This journey has one end for Lou and Jorie but through it may other paths begin – hmm maybe a series!
Mated Forever by Michaela Rhua
The full moon is always a time for danger and mating. This month it brings the scent of Louisa’s mate. Jorie is on the run and in grave danger. Being rescued by Louisa brings safety and a new temptation. As the girls act on their feelings, and passion overtakes them, they are unaware of the danger surrounding them both. When Jorie is kidnapped, it’s a race against time. Will Louisa be able to save her mate, or will the past and all its secrets destroy them before they even have a chance at forever?

Author Bio:
Michaela Rhua always dreamed of writing but this never happened until she met the lovely group of ladies known as UCW. Their passion for writing and encouragement inspired her to see if she could do it too. Now she loves writing!
She has teenage children and a husband, who also keep her busy. However, it is whilst travelling into work that she has time to create her characters and imagine other places in which they exist as her world skims by the window. Conversations overheard often lead to the birth of new ideas that she scribbles down in her trusty notebook.
Michaela is a multi-published author with Breathless Press, Evernight Publishing and a self-published anthology with authors from The Nuthouse Scribblers.
