Good morning. It’s Meet and Greet Monday!
With us today is Romance Author, Sara Brookes.
Welcome, Sara!
Tell us a bit about yourself. What makes you tick?
It’s pretty simple really, I read like a fiend (though a lot less lately), love movies, spend a lot of my time writing various genres of erotic romance and listening to music while juggling a teenage daughter (who’s researching colleges *EEK*), a husband, two holier than thou cats and one highly energetic puppy.
Tell us about your “big break” in the publishing world. Was there any one person believe in your work first (besides yourself of course)? What did you do to celebrate your first contract?
There was actually someone who believed in me (and my books) long before I landed my first contract. We don’t talk as much as we used to now, but every time I hear or see my pen name, I think of her. See, part of my pen name is also her name. It was my way of thanks and every book I have pubbed is an acknowledgement of that without even saying so. The celebration of my first contract was extremely low key, mostly because I didn’t believe I’d actually landed the contract. Kept thinking it was a mistake. We went out for sashimi (my favorite) and that’s actually how I still celebrate a new contract now.
What is your favorite meal that you wish you could eat at least three times a week?
Bacon burgers. I love them. My waistline…not so much.
Preference – Sam or Dean Winchester? If you haven’t seen Supernatural (and why not! It’s MY Fave show LOL), then would you prefer Iron Man or Wolverine?
Oh noes! I can’t choose between Tony and Logan! Seriously. I write ménages. I shouldn’t have to choose.
What superhero(es) would you love to sit down for dinner with? Which one would you love to take home with you?
Oddly enough, Magneto. Yeah, sure, not the typical tall, dark and handsome dude you’d want to take you home, but I love the way his mind works. It’s just so…sick and twisted.
What is your favorite TV Show right now?
I just started watching Season 1 of Sons of Anarchy. I know I’m way behind on this show, but since I get up so early, it’s rare that I can stay up late enough to watch anything past 10 pm.

Have you read any books that have made you cry?
Hrm, it’s been a while. Anyone have any suggestions?
What book – print or e-book – is sitting on top of your to be read pile that you are eager to read?
The to be read pile is massive, but right at the top for the moment is Undeniable by Alison Kent.
What kind of beverage specialty would you provide for a dinner party?
Torchwood Cherry Rum and Coke. Best Cherry Coke you’ve ever had.
If you were given an all-expense paid, five day/night trip to anywhere, where would you go?
Somewhere in the South Pacific, mostly because I’m writing about such a place right now so that would make my research awesome.
What is your one pet peeve about the writing business?
The belief that social media is the place to promote non-stop. It’s not promo media, it’s SOCIAL media. You can interest readers just by talking about your struggles writing, a recent acceptance and/or rejection, your kids, your pets, etc. Sure, you can throw some promo in there once in a while, and ten to one it’ll be heavier when you have a new release, but I don’t think it’s necessary to overwhelm your followers. They aren’t following you JUST to hear you BUY MY BOOK! MY BOOK IS AT XXX STATUS ON AMAZON! spouted over and over to them like a commercial, believe me.
What is the most played song on your iPod/MP3 Player?
Radioactive by Imagine Dragons
What song are you most sick of hearing on the radio right now?
I don’t listen to the radio much since I can hook up my iPod to my radio.
What do you find most challenging about writing?
One of the most challenging things is not getting down on myself. It’s very easy to do. Luckily, I have a great support system of family and friends who are willing to listen to me babble on incessantly about things and offer a shoulder or two.
What publishers can we find your stories at? ( list of them w/ links)
Ellora’s Cave
Decadent Publishing
Blurb:
Beth has been scarred both inside and out by a sadistic Dom and has worked hard to put the pieces of her life back together. However, the successful disc jockey knows one piece doesn’t quite align. She yearns to submit and searches for the one Dom she’s convinced will help bring her to lusty new heights.
When Ryan agrees to assist Beth, he’s surprised by her determination to persevere. Intrigued, he pushes her limits by using his gifted carpenter’s hands to bring her wild, erotic pleasure. Ryan, though, has scars of his own, and a tragic past filled with death keeps him at a distance.
Beth discovers what she needs in Ryan, and her journey mends Ryan’s heart. But when the life Beth abandoned rises from the shadows, Ryan realizes there’s something far worse than his tortuous past—a future without Beth.
Warning: Get your world rocked by two very tortured souls who come together in a blinding explosion of sensual passion that knows no bounds. Except when there are ropes, custom-carved floggers, glass dildos and motorcycle sex involved. Oh, and did I mention the m/f/m menage scene? One can never have too many skilled men ready to lend a…hand.
