This week’s tease is another from my new release today, PAYBACK’S A BITCH!

A simple dance turns into something more than Lark ever expected …

Heat filled the air around them, making her sweat and wishing to be drenched in ice water. The hunger and need in his eyes was potent.

She stood and gyrated closer still until she bracketed him with her thighs. He straightened until his face was in line with her chest and gripped her hips to stop her movements, then scrutinized her with smoldering heat.

“You’re playing with fire, lady,” he murmured.

She hummed, not agreeing or disagreeing, and shifted her feet.

The warmth of his touch burrowed deep, making her skin burn and tingle. Her nipples beaded beneath her bra, and the leather was confining.

“This dance is only for you, fire or no fire. It’s all it is. A simple dance,” she whispered into his ear, her throat dry. Nerves fluttered in the pit of her stomach. She should end this charade and walk away now.

But he hauled her in against him, his fingers skimming the back of her thighs. Damn it, there was no way she’d walk away now, no matter how much she second-guessed herself. His touch on her skin was hot and thrilling. Her breath caught. The urge to purr and rub her body over his was getting harder to resist.
