Mid Week Tease: “How hot is he?” #MWTease #StirringUpDirty

MWTease15Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope everyone is doing great!

Special thanks to Sandra Bunino for rallying authors together to share teases every week.

This week’s tease comes from STIRRING UP DIRTY, book 1 of “Stirred by Love” seriesand connected to DARE.

I’ve been blessed with great friends in my life, sharing the joys, the ups and downs, and I have a few friends going through some huge uncertainties and changes right now. So I thought I’d share a bit from this story, the bond of friendship.

Her cell phone rang on the table beside her.
For the first time in days, joy filled her and she grinned happily, knowing who was on the other end.
Pulling the accept button across the screen, she lifted the phone to her ear. “Hey, lovely momma. How are you?”StirringUpDirty-evernightpublishing-JayAheer2015-3Drender
“I’m a tired, two-hundred-pound whale who needs to pee every twenty minutes. Am lying in bed right now, wishing my best friend was here with some ice cream and interesting conversation.”
Candy moved over to the sofa and piled pillows on the one end, then laid back.
There was nothing she wouldn’t do for her best friend, Olivia Shalvis. It sounded like she needed to talk and she might as well get comfortable.
“You’re the one who decided to get pregnant again, ya know. The docs told you after the second one that having another one would be risky and you’d be in bed a lot during the last trimester.” Candy closed her eyes, thinking about Olivia in a lot of pain. Her first pregnancy with Molly had been a breeze. But the second with Sheri, the weight gain and inability for Olivia to push during delivery, had made things a lot more difficult. Having a third was a risk. Knowing the love Olivia and Dare had to give to children, and the desperation to finally have a boy, Candy prayed they’d made the right decision. She couldn’t fault them for their dreams.
“I know, but I have great news, Candy.” Olivia sniffled. “I had another ultrasound yesterday. We didn’t want to know the sex, but guess what? We’re getting our boy. It’s a boy, Candy. A baby boy.”
Candy gasped and tears of happiness fell down her cheeks. Such wonderful news. Prayers had helped. “Oh, honey, I’m so happy for you.” She kicked her feet happily against the cushion. “I wish I was there with you. How’s Dare? I imagine he’s grinning somewhere at the moment?”
In the beginning of Olivia’s relationship with Dare, Candy hadn’t been all that impressed with him. Olivia had been wrongfully accused of something out of her control, and Dare hadn’t stood by her best friend. He’d automatically believed their employer had just cause to kick her to the curb without looking into the matter. Candy thought he was the wrong man for her best friend, but now, eight years later, she was glad they were happy and tighter than ever. She’d even become friends with Dare. There were moments she liked to give him a hard time still, and remind him of when he’d been an ass, but he made Olivia happy. There was no fighting the love and happiness the two shared.
“He’s with his brother, celebrating. He is over the moon.”
“I can’t wait until the little one’s born. Everything is okay?”
“Yes. The doctor advises I stay in bed as much as possible. The girls and Dare made sure I’m following her orders. But I’m already tired of it.”
Candy hit the speaker button and laid the phone on her stomach. “I bet. But it’s best for my nephew, so you’ll do it.”
Olivia’s laughter filled her heart with joy. She missed her friend and hoped she’d get to see her soon. “Do you think you’ll make the trip home before my due date? His godmother should be here, you know.”
Candy’s heart jumped. That Olivia and Dare had named her godmother to all of their children filled her with warmth. There were very few times when she ever considered having children, and knowing she could care for her best friend’s babies and watch them grow up was all she needed.
She mentally went over her schedule. Her stay in St. Albert was the unknown. She did have to get back to Boston in two weeks for an important interview with the local news station, but helping Melissa was in the back of her mind.
“Once I’m done here, I have the news interview, so I might be home for your delivery. You still have four weeks, right?”
“Yep. I have a feeling this baby boy plans to percolate as long as he wants.”
Candy chuckled. “Well I have a feeling he’s going to be as stubborn as his father.”
Olivia laughed. “I agree. But enough about us. What are you up to? How are things going?”
Candy sighed.
“Well that doesn’t sound good. Does Melissa no longer want to sign with you?”
“She’s more eager than ever. I’ve just run into a roadblock with her family. Her oldest brother, actually. Talk about stubborn.”
“Doesn’t he want his sister to be happy?”
“Of course he does. He just thinks her happiness is his decision and what’s best for her is to stick to law school, then settle in the other brother’s law practice here in town.”
“Ah, I see. Well, I guess he’s being protective.”
Candy scoffed. “Controlling. A pain in the ass. Egotistical. And did I mention controlling?”
There was a long pause. “You don’t like him much, do you?”
Memories of his hands on her ass, and his back pressed against her, came rushing back. Candy ground her teeth together, angry with herself all over again. Like had nothing to do with how she felt about Eric. She’d never fall prey to him ever again.
“He’s an obstacle I hadn’t realized would be so difficult. He’s a tough nut to crack.”
“Very much so, the bastard.”
“Ah-ha!” Olivia’s shout filled the sitting area and startled Candy.
“Jesus. What’s with the shouting?”
“You’re not all pissed off at him because he’s a roadblock. You’re attracted to him, honey, and you hate that.”
Olivia knew her so well. “Do you need anything for the baby before he’s born?”
“Don’t change the subject now, and no, we don’t need anything. I know you, Candy. You’re having a hard time with this guy because of attraction. Is he gay?” Her eyes widened. “No, he’s not gay.”
“Are you sure? Have you gotten to know him so well? Jesus, have you slept with him already?”
Sitting up, she set her phone on the seat beside her and crossed her legs. Damn it for Olivia’s insight and rambling questions. She didn’t want to think about Eric right now. But her friend was nothing if not relentless.
“Your silence speaks volumes. Obviously the two of you have gotten close.”
“Not in the way you think. It was a momentary lapse in judgment.” Candy waved a hand dismissing her friend’s notions.
“How hot is he?”
“On a scale of one to ten, a fifteen.”
“Holy shit! He’s not falling at your feet, is he? And you can’t stand it, can you?” Olivia laughed.

Mid Week Tease: ” “Don’t you sweetheart me…” #MWTease #SweetestSalvation

MWTease15Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope everyone is doing well.

Special thanks to Sandra Bunino for rallying authors together to share teases every week.

This week’s tease is another that comes from one of my older titles, Sweetest Salvation, the first of the Club Splendor series.

After the deaths of her child and husband, Andy feels lost. She desires nameless and disconnect while seeking some release from her emotions during sex. However, her husband’s best friend, Hunter, won’t stand for it. He gives her an ultimatum, spending the night with him or losing her membership to his club…

And so it begins …

Reaching the room, she took a deep breath and knocked. Hearing Hunter’s gruff, “Come in,” she turned the knob.
The room, similar to the one she’d used the other night, had a warmer feel to it. The fireplace ablaze, the heat of it welcomed her.
Andy’s gaze swept the room. Furnished with a full living room set, she loved the royal purple and black colors of the furniture and curtains than anything else. This room conveyed privacy and self-indulgence. Her heart rate increased just thinking of all that might have been done in this room.
It was made for sex. Especially with a glass display case that took up the most of wall. Inside were dildos, anal plugs, collars, floggers, cock rings and more toys of pleasure.
Andy’s gaze landed on Hunter where he sat in the center of the couch, arms stretched over the back of it.
“Hi, sweetheart.”
Her gaze narrowed on his and she shut the door behind her. “Don’t you sweetheart me, Hunter. And get that look off your face.”
“What look?”
“That self-righteous look. I might be here, but not for the reasons you think.”

“Then why are you here?” he questioned, his gaze unwavering.
“I wanted to tell you in person that your idea isn’t going to happen. We’ve been… friends too long. You’re Patrick’s best friend. It’s all kinds of wrong.”
He leaned forward, arms resting on his powerful thighs.
His red t-shirt molded his shoulders and the cuffs of the arms looked snug around his biceps. Damn him for being in such great shape.
She shivered, nipples tightening. She needed to get away from him.
“There, I’ve said all I have to say. Goodbye,” she muttered, and turned back toward the door.
Hunter was quickly behind her, arms encasing her as his palms pressed against the door and preventing her retreat.
His breath was warm against her ear. Andy wished she’d left her hair down. At least she wouldn’t be able to feel his breath on her neck.
A shudder ran through her. “Let me out, Hunter. I need to leave.”
“Why? You were so desperate to remain a member and be here the other night. I’m simply offering a safer solution. Me instead of strangers,” he rasped against her ear.
“I don’t have to worry about much with strangers. At least they aren’t people I have to see after the sex is over.”
Hunter pressed in closer behind her, which pushed her farther against the door. She’d always been claustrophobic. And right now, being caged in by this man, made it even harder to breathe than if she was locked in a closet. His chest was firm against her, his mouth against her ear, and his hoarse voice soft.
Her thighs rubbed together and her clit chafed against her thong. The string along her ass was snug. All she had to do was turn around and take what he offered. She wanted a cock inside her.
Dear lord, this was Hunter.
Could she step over the invisible line and take what he offered?

Sprawling out on my borrowed sleeping bag beside the fire, I feasted my eyes on Eve as she moved with ease around our site. No fidgeting. No sidelong glances. “I can see why you love it out here.”

She tucked an escaped lock of hair behind an ear and bent over her task of wiping the blackened pot clean. “While it’s quiet at home, nothing compares to the peaceful outdoors.”

Temptation to tell her I knew of a thing or two that would compare in enjoyment rolled over me, but I refrained. Shadows lengthened across the small campground, and although we had neighbors a stone throw away, their murmuring barely reached my ears. Shrubs and trees blocked us from view, and leaning back, hands behind my head, I decided tonight, come hell or high water, I would hear Eve’s gasps, smother her moans with my lips as my hands explored her body.

Twilight hindered sight through the trees before she finished cleaning up. After hiding herself in the tent for a few minutes, she emerged with pants and clogs replacing her hiking gear. She settled onto the ground beside my knees.

I leaned up on my elbow and propped my head on my hand. “Eve.” I patted the sleeping bag I laid on. “Come up here.”

Her bottom lip sucked between her teeth as she peered at me in the growing darkness. “Why?”

“I want to kiss you.”

A gasp reached my ears, and I wished we’d brought a lantern so I could see her face. She scooted to my side, and I tugged her down to lay beside me.

Baby steps.

Inches separated our bodies, but I didn’t pull her close like I longed to do. Instead, I ran a fingertip down her cheek and neck, her pulse thrumming beneath my feather-light touch. She gazed up at me with widened eyes. Her lips parted and breathing hitched, and I held in my groan. As if my aching cock needed her encouragement.

Enjoying the tension sizzling between us, I leaned down and kissed her, and the second I swept my tongue along the seam of her lips, she moaned and shimmied closer.

Arousal rolled over me, and I clamped my arm around her waist, pressing her breasts and hips tight against me. My groan escaped into her mouth. No way in hell would I get any sleep.

New Release!! and Mid Week Tease: “Guilt filled him. He should have returned sooner…” #MWTease #shifter #reading #mustread

MWTease15Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope everyone is doing great!

Special thanks to Sandra Bunino for rallying authors together to share teases every week.

This week’s tease comes from Fighting For Honor, which is now available at some bookstores, coming soon to all others!

I can’t believe I have a shifter story to add to my list of releases. I’m very excited!! *g*

Here, Dominic has returned to take his rightful place as Alpha, and hasn’t seen his mother in a couple years…

© Kacey Hammell, 2015
As the last notes of Staying Alive ended, he caught sight of his mother across the room. Her long, dark hair was braided as usual, but he was surprised to see the weathered lines on her face. He hadn’t seen her in two years, and while she turned fifty today, the days had pushed her beyond her young years and stress wrinkled her face.
Guilt filled him. He should have returned sooner, but it had taken weeks to set things up as he had—to set his plan in motion.
He strode further into the room. The whispers and
Paranormal Erotic Romance/Cat Shifters

shocked gasps filled his ears as those of his pride realized who he was. Heading toward his mother, a cloud of white from off to his right side distracted him. His heart pitched to his gut. He couldn’t be sidetracked by the one woman in the valley whose hair reminded him of soft pillows and clouds in the sky.
His mother’s stare cut toward him, then away, only to return as recognition dawned. Tears filled her eyes as she broke free from the people she’d been conversing with, and met him halfway across the room.
The scent of spring breezes, of vanilla and strawberries, wrapped around him as she cuddled into his chest, her arms locking tight around his waist.
“Dominic,” she whispered, squeezing him hard.
“Ma, I’ve missed you,” he spoke into her ear, not wanting anyone around them to hear. He was Alpha of his pride, and though every man here would lay down arms for their mothers, he wouldn’t show weakness to anyone.

Mid Week Tease ~ “I hate this man you’ve become.” #MWTease

MWTease15Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope everyone is doing great!

Special thanks to Sandra Bunino for rallying authors together to share teases every week.

This week’s tease comes from Fighting For Honor, a shifter story, which is my first! I had so much fun writing it. Dominic left his pride when his father died, and has now returned to make things write — with the pride and the woman he left behind.

Releases Aug 26 with Evernight Publishing.

© Kacey Hammell, 2015
Honor stood swiftly. Her left paw dug in the grass as her blue eyes turned icy. I loved your father as much as you did, Dominic. How dare you be so cruel? You’re not the same man who left here. I hate this man you’ve become.
Turning, she leapt on to the ledge above their heads and gazed back at him. If he were a compassionate man he’d trot after her. But he had a job to do and had no time to console her. He believed she had no clue what Kenneth was up to, and he needed to keep her as
fightingforhonor1mfar away from him and Kenneth. She was his weakness, he knew it, but she wouldn’t deter him from his mission.
In a flurry of movement, Honor sped through the grassy knolls until she disappeared from sight. He heard her ragged breaths and muttered expletives as she rushed through the trees and hills, probably hating him.
Rising, he rushed through the woods, pushing away the guilt and anger pulsing through him. No one could understand what he was going through. He was on his own as far as having anyone to rely on. A great Alpha protected his people. Here was his chance to show everyone that he did deserve to follow in his father’s huge footsteps.
Coming to a halt at the edge of the winery, he lifted his head and spotted the clothes his contact had promised would be there. Shifting, his body realigned swiftly, his skin stretching and extracting him back into his human form.
He slid into the black sweats and t-shirt, pushed into a pair of running shoes, and pulled on the baseball cap. If anyone was keeping an eye out, he hoped that from a distance the clandestine clothing would keep them unaware of his presence.
Leaning against the tree, he waited patiently, brooding over Honor and the pain he’d left her in. She had loved his father as much as she’d loved her own, and he understood that. He was every kind of bastard for hurting her.

Mid Week Tease and Cover Reveal!! ~ “The Alpha and his mate were to always be purebred.” #MWTease

Dominic drew in deep breaths and tried to clear his mind. He’d been trained in one of the most lethal professions out there. Adding his panther to the mix, his anger was boiling heavily. But he couldn’t go into the hall guns blazing. Not when there was so much at stake. The element of surprise was on his side.
Unzipping his leather jacket, he stood and lifted his right leg over the bike, stomping his feet on the cement and getting the circulation moving again. Glancing around the quiet, deserted streets, he breathed in the sweet scent of the lands around him. Dust, wheat from the neighboring fields a mile away, the burned coffee that no doubt came from the Lap It Up Diner down the street, and the sugary richness from the Dairy Barn Ice Cream Parlor on the other side.
Cocking his head, two additional scents caught him unaware. One wrapped him with joy and protection, his heart filling with happiness with the knowledge that his mother was nearby. He had only communicated with her through e-mail and when he’d asked her to come out West to see him for a few days. Today was her special day. He hoped she’d be as pleased to see him back home as he was to be here.
The other scent, however, set his nerves on edge and his breathing ragged. The only other woman who filled his heart with both happiness and uneasiness. She was out of his league, had always been, even though there were few places they’d gone over the years where they weren’t together.
She was his childhood friend, confidante, and also the woman he’d wanted to someday spend forever with. They’d kept their relationship under wraps in the past, but Dominic planned to change that as soon as he could.
His father had told him that under no uncertain terms was he ever to take a bride who was not of similar Panther blood. The Alpha and his mate were to always be purebred.
As it stood, until his father’s dying day, Dominic had battled many of the new laws, since they went against his very nature. In fact, many in their solidified faction disputed the founding principles of the Okanogan Valley Pride.

Taking off at a run, he re-familiarized himself with his favorite trail leading to the waterfall where he’d spent much of his childhood. The serenity and secluded area had always called to him, drawing him in and giving him the best place possible to contemplate his future.
If there was any one place in the valley he’d missed the most, it was the falls, and the memories there.comingsoon
His awkward first kiss.
With Honor.
Clumsily losing his virginity.
With Honor.
Crying over the death of his father.
With Honor holding him.
Darting faster and harder, his paws barely touching the ground, he pushed away the memories. He’d missed so much over the last five years. And she was at the top of his list.
How she’d fallen into his cousin’s hands… well, he had himself to blame.
Stopping at the clearing, breathing hard, he trotted to the edge of the falls and stuck his snout in. Replenishing himself with the cold water, his ears twitched as he listened for anyone nearby.
Gulping down a last swallow, he strode to a clear spot in the cool grass, lay flat on his belly and let the quiet of the night draw him into its solitude. He couldn’t believe he hadn’t returned just for this. Too many years had flown by.
