Sunday Snippet ~ Sparks of Blue by Rose Wulf #PNR #ERom #Books @RoseWulfAuthor @EvernightPub

Hello my lovelies! Thank you so much for having me today!
I’m here this time to talk about my brand new release, Sparks of Blue (Dark Light 2)! I am beyond excited for this particular book and I just know you’re going to love it!
Sparks of Blue
Dark Light series
Erotic paranormal romance
Nearly a century ago warrior angel Kai and Nephilim Belle were lovers. Then he broke her heart and never looked back.
Now Second in Command of the angel armada, Kai knew he was the obvious choice for this long-term mission. And his job was clear: keep Belle and her patient alive. But he wasn’t prepared for the resurgence of old memories and long-ignored feelings. He’ll have to face what he did a hundred years ago if he wants a chance to be back in Belle’s arms…but even then, angels are forbidden from laying with Nephilim. If they were caught, Belle would be executed.
Born a Nephilim, Belle was neither angel nor human. But she was a healer, and she was damned good at it. Her reputation got her noticed by the armada and eventually earned her the title of Master Healer. It also earned her a terrible assignment: save the life – and therefore the soul – of a cursed human…under the protection of her ex-lover. And it turns out the chemistry they’d once shared may have been buried, but it’s a flame that could never burn out.
*Exclusive* Excerpt:
Belle shut her eyes as the demon’s energy-claws descended. His intent was clear and his grip was too strong to break. Maybe she’d have stood a chance with a weapon or if she hadn’t been trying to protect someone, but that wasn’t the situation. And this demon was clearly not the run-of-the-mill grunt. He knew what the hell he was doing.
Something crashed, and the weight of the demon lifted from her. Or perhaps she was hallucinating in the moments before death. Guess I’ll have to look.
The first thing she saw when she pried her eyes open was Kai. Standing over her with his sword drawn and a look of fury on his face. He was looking behind her. The way he was standing, in fact, would completely shield her. Unless some idiot thought falling on a blue-burning sword was a good idea.
Belle released a breath, fighting back the tears of relief that threatened to betray the fear she’d felt. It’d been a long time since she’d been truly scared for her life.
“Damn.” Kai’s grunt drew her attention again, and she realized he was already sheathing his sword. That could only have meant the demon had fled.
Not sure what to do, or how to thank him when she’d established such an “I don’t need you” attitude with him, Belle forced herself to look away. Gwen. Check on Gwen. “Gwen,” she called, pushing to her knees carefully.
“Yeah?” a mumbled voice replied from the bed.
            “Are you hurt?”
“I don’t think so.” The response was slow, indicating pain, but that didn’t mean she was lying. There was a difference between pain and injury.
Kai’s warm touch landed on her shoulder and Belle jerked her attention around to find him kneeling beside her. Something like concern flickered beneath his piercing blue eyes. “Let me see your arms.”
Not a question. He’d probably already glimpsed the bruises she was sure she had.
Not having the strength to argue, Belle obligingly lifted her arms. Sure enough, thick bruises were forming below her wrists. The imagery of what could have conjured bruises like that was enough to make her sick, even without the sensation of the demon’s breath on her cheek. Belle fought not to shudder. “It’s not that bad,” she said, her voice quieter than she’d intended. “I can heal it in minutes.” Thank God.
Kai landed a thumb without warning to her jaw, below her lips, and gently wiped away the traces of blood. “What else?”
Belle fought to control her breathing at his touch and let her arms return to her lap. “Nothing else. I just bit my tongue when I fell.” It was a lie, but she could heal herself easier than anyone else, anyway. Wait, was that blood? Her gaze immediately slid back down to Kai’s bicep and, sure enough, there was a line of blood still trickling over the perfectly tanned skin. “Kai,” she mumbled, reaching out on reflex. “You’re hurt.”
He caught her stretching fingers in his gently, his touch sending jolts of nearly-dizzying electricity up her arm. He hadn’t been this gentle with her, or this lingeringly close to her, in… almost a century. Remember what happened, Belle. Her heart was running on adrenaline right now, and adrenaline made people think stupid thoughts.
“It’s nothing,” he assured her. His voice was as gentle as his touch, and her traitorous, stupid heart flickered with hope.
Belle looked down as he released her hand and glimpsed something else. Burn marks. Black burn marks on the tips of his fingers. Sucking in a breath, she snatched his hand in both of hers and turned it palm-up. “My God, Kai, you’ve been burned. How did they get you?”
“They didn’t,” he returned, attempting to pull his hand free. “I used their weapon against them.”
“No wonder,” she mumbled, holding his wrist tight and laying her palm over his fingers. “Hold still, you stubborn idiot.” There wasn’t nearly enough venom in that statement. What was wrong with her?
Why did it bother her so much to see him wounded?
She wasn’t nearly ready to face that answer. She’d fought so hard, for so long, to hate him. She had every right. After what he’d said when he up and left, any woman with half an ounce of self-respect would hate him. But she didn’t, not really.

About Rose:
Rose Wulf is a giant romance fangirl. Hot, protective, sometimes even downright barbaric heroes and spitfire heroines are her favorites. Rose has been writing for as long as she can remember, and over the years she’s only grown fonder of it. The bonds between characters have always captivated her, and as an author those are Rose’s favorite things to play with – not always to the relief of her fictional babies!
Behind the scenes Rose is a quiet personality. She enjoys spending her non-writing time with her German Shepherd, Shadow, her mom, and her friends. Be it a fun game of Cards Against Humanity or a relaxing movie night, Rose believes everything is better with company. As for her own romance, she’s still searching for her hero (and hoping that, when she does find him, he’ll be willing to cook!).

Spotlight ~ Found in Flames by Rose Wulf #Suspense #Shifters #MustRead @RoseWulfAuthor @EvernightPub

Hello everyone! I’m author Rose Wulf and I’m here today to tell you all about my latest release, Found in Flames! Found in Flames is Book 1.5 in my Night Shadows series, which is set in a world full of vampires, werewolves, witches, and humans called Slayers. This installment focuses on the powerful, sexy Luka Craige – Alpha werewolf with a mission – and unassuming, overworked Joella Harp – a human caught in the crossfire.

All his life Luka Craige has been haunted by the witch that killed his family. Finally, having chased him across the country to the edge of vampire territory, Luka has his chance at vengeance. But not before his Beta is killed and Luka finds himself protecting a woman he doesn’t know. A woman who arouses him like never before. Could he possibly exact his revenge and find his mate?

A burning body was the last thing Joella Harp expected to find when she rounded the corner. Let alone a body with a man standing over it. After that her droll life becomes a whirlwind of werewolves, wild sex, and deadly fire. The witch wants her dead, she can barely think past her mouthwatering rescuer, and in no time she realizes this adventure could be more than a fantastical memory…. If she’s brave enough.

Exclusive Excerpt:

In hindsight, Joella supposed she should have been a little more specific with her silent prayers. She’d blindly torn through the prickly, disorienting brush, turning at the sound of a sharp, pain-filled yelp, until all of a sudden the pup was within sight. Up against a rock three times his size and holding an injured front paw off the ground. Spots of blood dotted the dirt around her, but she barely noticed them when she realized why he was cowering.

Standing between them was the man she’d last seen in that darkened alley. The witch who’d killed Luka’s friend, the very same witch who now, supposedly, was after her.

“Char,” she breathed, her stomach dropping to her feet. What the hell was she supposed to do now? What chance did she stand against a real life witch?

The boy whimpered again and Joella swallowed heavily. Poor odds or not, if she did nothing the boy would be killed.

“Ah,” Char began with a chilling smile as he slid his dark stare to her. “So you know my name now.”

“Leave him alone,” Joella demanded, fighting to keep her voice stable.

Dark brow lifting with exaggerated curiosity, the witch asked, “Which ‘him’ are we talking about, exactly?” He gestured toward the pup and added, “This one? Or the bigger, angrier one who rescued you last night?”

Both. But the ‘bigger, angrier one’ wasn’t her priority right then. “The boy. Leave the boy alone. Let me take him home.”

Char grinned this time. “Pick one,” he replied. “But choose carefully.”

Thrown, Joella hesitated. He was clearly playing some kind of game, but what was it? What was the catch here?

“You look confused,” Char continued. “I can either leave this one alone,” he said, “or I can let you take him home. Not both.”

“That doesn’t make sense,” she said, her mind still racing to figure out his point before she fell for it.

Char only shrugged and tucked his hands into his pockets.

Infuriated, Joella drew a breath and strode purposefully to the pup. She lifted him as gently as she could considering that he was already probably half-grown. He helped by curling his paws over her shoulder and holding still, for which she was grateful. She didn’t really have the upper-arm strength for this kind of stunt.

“Home it is, then,” Char said with a smirk.

“Actually,” Joella said, glaring at him, “I choose option C. You go straight to hell.”

Char laughed, the sound echoing around them, and shook his head. “How about I bring hell to you? Volvenda ignis.”

Joella paused, just a couple of feet ahead of him. What did he just—? But the answer was already apparent, as bright orange flame shot up from the ground directly in front of her. She stumbled back instinctively, eyes widening as the flame raced out and around, forming a circle around them. Trapping her and the boy inside, inside with Char. The boy whimpered, attempting to nuzzle closer to her, and she couldn’t help but think that she understood. She didn’t want to be there, either.

“What’s it feel like to be a dead girl?” Char asked tauntingly.

Turning to face him for lack of anything better to do, Joella snapped, “I’m not dead yet.”

Char shrugged again. “That’s a technicality. But I can let you breathe a little longer … if you’ll tell me where the wolf den is.”

“No way.” She wasn’t about to sell out Luka’s people, even if some of them would probably not have returned the favor.

Sighing as if greatly inconvenienced, Char lifted his hands out at his sides. “Suit yourself.” The flame surrounding them flared, growing taller as the heat spiked, and for an instant Joella was sure she and the boy-pup in her arms were about to die. And in the next instant she registered the dark brown shape that seemed to have flown through the rising flame, front paws extended and fangs bared with violent intent.

Unfortunately, Char noticed him, too. His eyes immediately widened and he spun, a curse falling from his lips simultaneously.

The wolf—Luka, she was certain, despite that she’d never seen his wolf form—was primed to sink his fangs into Char’s collar, just shy of his throat, when Char’s body burst into ash and embers. The fire immediately snuffed out, thick, dark plumes of smoke rising up to the sky before dissipating on the wind. Luka crash-landed on the ground, skidding to a halt mere inches from Joella’s feet. He shook his head, coughing up ash, before finally looking up at her.

And she was right, it was definitely Luka. She recognized his deep, powerful, captivating eyes. They lost nothing of their allure in his canine form. But more than that, it seemed the scar she’d seen in the cave haunted this form, too. It was stretched, but still curved around his jaw and under his eye. Instead of looking like a scar on flesh, though, it was a flowing trail of furless skin, a trail, she realized, that wound down his throat and right front leg. It even appeared to dip onto his chest, but she couldn’t quite tell.

“Luka,” she said finally, taking a half-step backwards and dropping to her knees. The pup in her arms adjusted enough to look over and whimpered. This time it sounded more shameful than fearful.

Luka huffed, shook himself, and turned completely around. He took half a dozen steps before his body rippled, the fur receding as he began to shift. Joella could only watch, transfixed, as dark fur sank into quickly pinkening flesh. The thick tail swished and shortened rapidly until it was gone and Luka’s back arched, front paws coming off the ground. With a final roll of his shoulders he straightened, standing firmly on two human legs. Completely bare.

Joella’s cheeks flushed as she found herself staring unabashedly at his naked ass. His tight, perfectly rounded, naked ass. Which was beneath his strong, taut back. She’d never realized it before, but apparently she found strong shoulders incredibly attractive. And when she was finally able to pull her eyes away from those two distracting aspects of her new view, she realized even his damned legs were sexy. Seriously, weren’t men supposed to be the ones with leg fetishes?

#MeetandGreetMonday with Rose Wulf #Romance #Erotic #Shifters @RoseWulf

Good morning. It’s Meet and Greet Monday!
With us today is Romance Author, Rose Wulf.

Welcome, Rose!
Hi, Kacey, thank you so much for having me!

Describe a typical day in the life of Rose, the writer.
Oh boy. Well, for me my day starts around 7:30am; I have to be sure to get up at the same time every day to give my 16 year old cat her medicine! After that it’s time to get myself ready for the day, and hopefully I can sit down with a granola bar and a cup of coffee before I go to work. Granted, ‘go to work’ means walking through the door off my dining room and stepping into my office!
I’m a full-time resident manager for an apartment complex, so the day-to-day work stuff is always somewhat unpredictable. It does usually offer some good time for writing – or at least plotting – though! And after work I go all the way back through that door to get home, get started on dinner, and afterwards I’ll write if I’ve got a story I’m working on actively. If not, I might take the time to watch a movie!

Tell us, what’s the first thought that comes to your head when you read the following words …
Romance … Love it!
Hercules … Great movie
Witches … Magic – always a fun story element!
Game of Thrones … Hugely popular; I should probably check it out
Miley Cyrus… No thank you.

What is your favorite junk food?
Does chocolate count as a junk food?

What are you a collector of?
My biggest collection is easily comic books! I love superheroes and all their crazy adventures, even the heartbreaking ones!
Other things I collect include coffee mugs (hey, gotta feed the habit!), key chains, and TV shows on DVD. Because I never know when I’ll feel like reliving some good memories! Oh, and reviews; I absolutely love collecting book reviews!

Who is your celebrity crush – male AND female?
Do I have to pick just ONE?! Ok, well, I’ll start with the female. That’s a tie between Jennifer Lawrence, who’s just awesome, and Scarlet Johansson.
As for the male, I have several! But at the end of the day my ultimate loyalty lies with Jensen Ackles. He plays Dean Winchester on Supernatural, for anyone who doesn’t know. The man is gorgeous!

***he’s my celeb crush too! So gorgeous!***

What three words would your family use to describe you?
Honest, loyal, and loving.

If you were given an all-expense paid, five day/night trip to anywhere, where would you go?
Almost definitely Hawaii. I’ve always wanted to go, and lately the desire to see Hawaii has been really strong!

What song are you most sick of hearing right now?
My first thought was “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker. Closely followed by anything Miley Cyrus.

What are you scared of most – spiders or snakes? If neither, what are you most afraid of?
They terrify me! I have more than a few full-on panic attacks when trapped in the presence of anything larger than the pad of my pinky finger!

What is your favorite color?
Oh, that’s easy: pink!

What is your favorite scent?
This, however, is not so easy! Some of my first thoughts are: rain, pine tree areas immediately after a good rain, and baking cookies. Or baking anything, really. Oh, and coffee!

Who are some of your favorite authors?
Anne George (may she rest in peace) was my first favorite author. Since then others include: Sherrilyn Kenyon, Angela Knight, Janet Evanovich, Joan Swan, and comic book legend Chris Claremont.

Tell us about your “big break” in the publishing world. Was there any one person believe in your work first (besides yourself of course)?
My “big break” was an open call for submissions for a themed anthology being published by Jupiter Gardens Press (a then-imprint called Pink Petal Books). The piece I submitted for the anthology was accepted as a stand-alone, but I had to make it longer of course. That story became my contemporary romance novella, Campfire Romance!

What did you do to celebrate your first contract?
You mean after I finished crying with happiness?? I went out to dinner, told everyone I knew, and cried some more!

What books have most influenced your life most?
Murder on a Girls’ Night Out by Anne George is definitely on the list. That was probably my first REAL favorite book, and it will always hold a special place in my heart for just that reason!
The Harry Potter series and Angela Knight’s Master series are probably the two I can most credit for my love and appreciation of solid world-building. Master of the Night has what is to this day one of my favorite series-prologues of all time. I dream to be able to create worlds as detailed and beloved as theirs!
The Stephanie Plum series, by Janet Evanovich, showed me just how important and enjoyable good humor is to a good book. And Sherrilyn Kenyon’s Dark-Hunter series showed me how to apply good humor to the kinds of stories and settings that I myself am the most fascinated by.

If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not famous, real or fictional, with whom would it be?
You just HAD to add ‘fictional’ as an option, didn’t you?? Ok, ok, let me think….
I’m kind of surprising myself with this answer, because I honestly thought I’d wind up choosing a fairly well-known superhero (Barbara Gordon [Batgirl] and Storm were two of my top contenders). In the end, though, I find my choice would be the character Asuna Yuuki from the anime Sword Art Online. And I’ll tell you why, of course! It’s because I don’t think I’ve ever quite been so truly envious of a fictional character as I have of Asuna. She’s so many things that pretty much all females would aspire to be that it’s just not fair. She’s beautiful, smart, strong, confident, sweet, loving, loyal, and honorable. And at the ripe old age of seventeen she’s already found her one true love; someone who would do anything – give up anything – for her and what they’ve built together. I dare you to find a romance author who doesn’t dream of that!
So I would trade places with her, so that I could get a taste of what it’s like to be all of that. To live in a world that rife with inspiration and to have an idea of what it felt like to be the heroine of a great love story.

If you knew then what you know now (about yourself, life, etc) what main piece of advice would you give yourself at age 21?
Probably this is the part where I should point out that age 21 wasn’t all that long ago for me! I mean, I turn 26 in November!
That said, there are still some things I could have done better. Probably my biggest piece of advice I could offer my younger self would be “don’t wait.” Generically like that, after all, it could apply to many things! In a lot of ways the main application would be best applied to dieting – a goal I hadn’t yet made any real progress on at that point in my life. And it’s truly amazing how much better I feel now that I’ve just about accomplished my weight loss goal; I do wish I’d done it sooner! With that dieting success I’ve been able to mature more, to grow more into myself and become more confident in myself. It certainly couldn’t have hurt to get started on that at 21!

Caught In Darkness CoverCaught in Darkness is the start of my new Night Shadows series!
Veronica Wyndham had no idea that vampires were real, let alone that her new favorite customer—Tall Dark and Handsome—just so happened to be one. And she never imagined she’d overhear a robbery plan with murderous potential while eating lunch in the park. Making those kinds of enemies just wasn’t a good way to spend a day.
Seth Hunter knew he should have been grateful for Veronica’s unintentional help in exposing the traitors, but all he could worry about was how much danger she’d just landed in. Instinct had him taking it upon himself to keep a protective eye on her, but even then he had to keep his distance. If she found out the truth about the world around her, she would surely get Caught in Darkness. My New Look! Jan2014
