Tomorrow marks the 36th ‘anniversary’ of Elvis’ death. I grew up listening to all his songs, watching all his movies, and watching my Mom shed tears whenever there were tributes or specials on TV. She’s one of his biggest fans and to this day is extremely touched by his songs.
Today’s Thursday Thirteen is a list of my favorite Elvis tunes. My fave performance special of his was the 1968 Comeback Special [which I share a few videos from below]. And not just because he looked pretty awesome in that black leather! LOL
Most of the songs below are ballads but some dance beats too that I still enjoy listening to. And I often sing along. Hope Elvis fans enjoy them too.
If I Can Dream —
Are You Lonesome Tonight?
The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face
Jailhouse Rock
Memories —
Let It Be Me
Teddy Bear
Trouble — (in my opinion, very sexy performance!)
Love Me Tender
Rock-A-Hula Baby
That’s All Right
You’ll Never Walk Alone
Fever —
What’s your favorite Elvis tune? I’d love to know, please share! *g*
‘Til next week,
Love them! I miss him. My mom was a huge fan and we grew up with his records in the house and movies on tv. My poor cat used to have to get dressed up and be forced to dance to his music. Teddy Bear was the popular torture song. ❤
