This week’s tease — and Cover Reveal! — comes from Illusions, which has been off the “shelves” for a couple of years,  will be revised some and re-released in January 2016!

Isabella Knowles likes to keep her private life just that. However, her cousin likes her drama, and driving Izzy nuts…

“All right, you have my oh-so-undivided attention. Spill. What’s got you so
riled you look like a caged lion?” Isabella wanted to laugh at the look of pure pissed-off that Ali sent her way, but it would only prolong the discussion.
“You could at least pretend to care.”
As she opened her mouth to reply, Alicia raised her hand, cutting her off at the knee—or tongue, so to speak.
“While you feel it’s no big deal, your father does. He thinks you have finally seen the light.”
Isabella couldn’t hold in her chuckle as she used two hands to make quotes in the air over ‘seen the light.’ Good God, even the Kardashians didn’t do drama as well as her cousin.
“You know, you really need to get the dumbfounded look off your face. Have you not woken the hell up yet today?”
“Jesus, woman, cut to the chase and let me get the hell outta here.” Dropping her foot to the floor, Isabella stood, ready to walk out and slam a door somewhere in total frustration. It was nine a.m. Too fucking early to listen to this shit. “When you get done making a spectacle of yourself, cuz, let me know and we’ll talk. Until then, save it and kiss my ass. I have work to do.” With a scowl, she made her way to the door, but Alicia’s words stopped her in her tracks.
“When did you start dating Brady, Izzy?” she asked quietly.
Heart stopping in mid-beat, Isabella whirled around. Her mind fogged. “What did you say?” she asked, shocked. Air rushed from her lungs, leaving her breathless.
“When did you start seeing Brady Jacobs?”
Taking a deep breath and feeling the interrogation of her life was on its way, she said, “I’m not seeing anyone. You know that.” She laughed, only the act held no humor whatsoever.
“Have you seen the paper today? Page four.” Alicia tossed the paper in question across the desk.
She could see the Gazette opened to what she could only assume was page four. With what seemed like lead feet, she walked the few steps to the desk.
A feeling of dread washed over her.
Caught and guilty ran through her mind as she read the headline that had taken her cousin by storm. Daughter of One of Trenton’s Finest Makes Time with City’s Favorite P.I.
Isabella’s only thought was that the photo of herself and Brady Jacobs looked rather cozy as they walked down the street. His arm, slung over her shoulder, and her laughing face upturned to his, as if they were a match made in heaven.
Too bad it was the furthest thing from the truth.
