Canadian Muscle …
When Desires Need Protecting.
No one knows sacrifice better than former Army Sergeant Gavin Bennett. He’s witnessed firsthand the emotional, physical and mental toll of being caught in the crossfire. Being a bouncer-slash-bodyguard may not be Gavin’s dream job, but he’s willing to do just about anything to help out family. When Gavin reports for his first day of work, he quickly discovers a woman who threatens to crack his legendary cool.
Shree Walker is on the run from a dark past she tried to shut away. Battered and broken, a happily ever after doesn’t exist for her. Ready to start fresh with a new life in a new city, she is happy dancing at the Vixen Club. She’d be even happier without the presence of the prickly new bouncer who won’t let anyone or anything get past his carefully guarded defenses. He’s a distraction she doesn’t need. And a temptation she can’t resist.
When Shree is kidnapped by the criminal mastermind hell-bent on taking the club at any cost, Gavin has to make a decision. Hold tight and continue to keep Shree at arm’s length. Or break down his walls and take a chance on something more powerful than them both: Love.

This week’s tease comes from GUARDING MIDNIGHT. I just can’t resist Gavin either… poor Shree… LOL

“You women are so pigheaded.” He inched a step closer. “You never know when to shut up and just listen. I’m trying to take care of all of you here.”
“Then go tell some of the other girls. You’ve given me my orders. Fine. You’re done. We’re done.” Chin up, Shree turned away.
He grabbed her arm, startling her. She spun back, legs unsteady, and reached out blindly as she began to fall.GMtoppick
The world spun around her, and she braced to hit the floor.
Warmth wrapped her waist, and then darkness smashed into her.
A deep groan brought her back. Scanning the room, the realization hit her. She was atop Gavin. She gasped. His strong body had broken her fall, though she’d probably end up with some bruises. He gazed at her with his beautiful cognac eyes.
Getting involved with him would be a very bad idea. She had to study, work hard to finish school and get away from clubs for good. She searched his gaze, searching for what she didn’t know. Maybe some sign that her heart wouldn’t be bruised after he was done with it.
“Shree.” Jesus. Her name rolled off his lips almost like a growl. The rasp put her body into overdrive. Her pussy clenched and pricks of electricity tingled along her back.
This man wasn’t right for her. She was going to get hurt. Deep in her gut, she knew it. And she always listened to her gut. Always.
Not this time.
No, she couldn’t—wouldn’t—miss out on taking what she could. For herself. To forget school, the job, and the past, she’d jump in with both feet and screw what might happen.
She captured his mouth with hers. A deep moan of delight escaped her.
His palms skimmed up her back, his mouth opening wide and allowing her entrance into the deep recesses of him. Stale coffee and mint coated her tongue.

Happy Wednesday Friends! Welcome to another week of teases!

Special thanks to Angelica Dawson for rallying authors together to share teases every week.

This week’s tease is from my current WIP, and the 2nd of the Canadian Muscle series, which is currently not titled.

In the years since GUARDING MIDNIGHT ended, Charlie and Frank have been on again / off again. And she’s had quite enough of him blowing through her life with no care to how old the whole thing is getting.

Here, Frank has landed back in her life — wounded, eager to see her, and to is on the hunt for the most dear person to her.

Let’s just say, writing this one has been fun!!

This is a WIP and hasn’t been completely edited as yet.

“Where am I?” the grogginess in his voice didn’t matter to her. She needed answers. Now.

She charged toward the bed. “Tell me what you’re doing here.” Hands on her hips, she glared down at the one man who did little but cause chaos in her life.

“Give him a second,” Marc held him down as Shree threaded the eye of a needle.

“What the hell are you doing, woman?”

“What yourself, man. Don’t speak to her like that,” Gavin ordered between clenched teeth and stepped closer to the end of the bed.

Charlie moved in closer and gave his foot a shove. “Speak now for cripes’ sake. What in the hell are you doing here, Frank Shaw?”

“Charlotte?” The man who stole her heart two years ago squinted up at her from his prone position.WIP

His short buzz cut, his amber eyes, the gruffness of his voice reminded her of better times. Nights in his arms, complete bliss and euphoria whenever he rubbed his whiskered jaw against her sensitive skin, knowing how much it thrilled her. Total surrender, she gave him everything as he taught her things she never imagined possible.

Blinking rapidly, she shook away thoughts of the past and frowned at his bleeding body, her hands fisted on her hips. “What happened, Frank? Who shot you? Why come back here?”

Marc handed Frank a bottle of water, and he drank it greedily. “Thanks bud. Guess I landed in the wrong room and not my own, huh?” Marc shrugged, irking Charlie.

Enough already. “For fuck’s sake, catch up later. What are you here? And where is my brother?”

“There’s the feisty girl who I love the most.” Frank’s grin turned into a grimace as Shree checked his wound again.

Charlie hoped his pain was off the charts.

“Save your bullshit and give us some answers,” she groused. “Then get lost back to where you came from. There’s nothing for you here.”

Frank’s gaze pinned her in place. “That’s where you’re wrong, honey. You’re here so that’s where I’ll be. Forever if I have to.”

Shocked, Shree stopped tending to his wound. Even Marc and Gavin stared at Frank, the incredulity identical on their faces.

Words. Silly words she would have fallen for months ago. Her heart leapt a couple beats, pleasure uncurling from within. She drew in a harsh breath and shoved it all away. She crossed her arms over her chest. “You’re demented. My being here has never mattered to you, so it won’t now. So what’s changed?” she steeled herself, mentally preparing for whatever lines of bullshit spewed from his lying lips.

“What’s changed is my getting shot, honey. It changes everything.” He coughed, grimacing. “You’re all I’m going to need.” He coughed again, this time causing him to fall back on the bed.

Charlie clenched her jaw. Frustrating Frank as usual. She may have smiled over the nickname she’d come up with whenever he popped up in her thoughts if things were so serious. “You don’t have me. I want nothing to do with you. You need to go away.”

Oh, very convincing. That’s the way to tell him to piss off.

Charlie wanted to smack the voice right out of her head.

Happy Wednesday Friends! Welcome to another week of teases!

This week’s tease comes from an **Untitled** WIP, (unedited) and is the sequel to GUARDING MIDNIGHT.  Readers meet FBI agent Frank and Charlie in book 1 of the CDN Muscle series, and their relationship has had many, many ups and downs. Here, he’s returned after a long absence. And Charlie’s life is turned upside down.

“Come on in. No danger. Just an asshole who decided to crash my place.”

Charlie followed Shree up the stairs and in to Marc’s apartment. The dark furniture always saddened her. she thought there should be lighter colors in such a small room but Marc refused to let her do a makeover. His bedroom area was closed off behind another dark fabric, but she didn’t see anyone else in the room. She couldn’t help noticing the sink full of dishes in the kitchenette in the corner. Her friend really needed a woman in his life. The thought came and went quickly considering he pined for one woman and she wasn’t ready for any relationship with a man.

“Sorry for spooking ya. I tried your phone,” Marc nodded at Gavin.

“I left it in the car since we’re leaving soon. What’s going on?”

Marc eyes Charlie, pity clear on his face. “Sorry, kiddo,” he reached out to the curtain hiding his bed, and pulled it back.

“Fuck me,” Gavin’s voice boomed around the work-in-progressroom.

Charlie stumbled, her back hitting the wall. She righted herself, breathing fast, staring at the figure on the bed.

What the hell was he doing here?

She’d assumed he was still off fighting bad guys somewhere when Shree told her they’d never received an RSVP from him. Though, a man like him would probably never reply in such a fanciful way. And she didn’t want to admit that she’d been coyly watching the door all day to see if he’d just show up. With him like this now, pale, blood covering his white dress tshirt, wasn’t how she’d imagined seeing him again.

“He’s been shot. Clear, through and through. Wrecked stitches from what I can see.” Marc’s voice sounded like a whisper to her ears since the throbbing in her head grew louder with each passing second. Her body was numb, nothing seemed real. Everyone’s breathing even echoed around her.

“Shot?” Gavin stepped closer, and leaned over the bed, then opened one side of the shirt.

Charlie caught her breath at the sight of the bloody bandage across his side.

“Are you okay, Charlie?” Shree’s arms came around her shoulder.

Charlie nodded, her mind on the conversation between the men.

“Maybe a couple days old would. He shouldn’t be traveling like this. Fucker’s bleeding all over my bed, was out cold like this when I came in. Haven’t been able to wake his sorry ass.”

The whirring sounds filled Charlie’s head, like a fan on high. Just whir, whir, whir, spinning and not cooling her down. Her skin sweated. Palms wet, she wiped them on the wall she leaned against.

This – him, here, blood – it shouldn’t be happening.

This week’s tease comes from a WIP. The second book for my Canadian Muscle Series. It is untitled at the moment, and it’s going well. In book 1 — Guarding Midnight — you met Charlie & Frank, this WIP is their story.

Frank’s been in and out of Charlie’s life for years since GM, and she’s had enough of it. While her heart and mind tell her to let him go, her body (and her heart too though she won’t admit it) can’t resist the man. Frank is quite enthralling, and exasperating, but I’m having so much fun!! He’s really surprised me.

Here’s just  a little bit of an unedited tease with them…

“Look, baby, without you in this storm of a life, I’m lost.” His eyes pleaded with her to understand. Charlie gripped the counter hard. Damn him for always making her want WIPthings she couldn’t have. Not the way she wanted anyway.
“I come back here — to you — every time because it’s a helplessness I can’t squelch. You’re the light in the dark side of me, Charlie.”
Snap, crackle, pop. Every crackle in the walls around her heart exploded in her ears. Every coat of cement she’d spent months carefully building threatened to tumble as they weakened.

Our Night of Sexy ~ @MySexySaturday #MySexySaturday #MySexyAuthors #Saturday7 #MSS131

My Sexy Saturday Page Header #3
Hello everyone! Thank you for joining me for the 131st week of My Sexy Saturday. And it is my first time participating in this fun blog hop.

Here are the details: every Saturday, published and unpublished authors will be sharing 7 words, sentences, or paragraphs from a work-in-progress or an already published story.

Today’s theme is…

Our Night of Sexy

Here’s seven paragraphs from the first of my Canadian Muscle Series, Guarding Midnight.

Here, Shree & Gavin have just made love for the first time and she discovers his tattoo. Though the lovemaking is over, I found this sexy too…

“The eagle is a protector, a guardian. Rich chose well,” she murmured against his skin. She pulled back and ran her fingers over the white skull. “Masculine, dominant, and ruler.” Leaning in, she kissed his shoulder then sat back. “I have to agree, it suits you.”
He smirked at her. “Have me figured out, do you?” Standing, he pulled the condom from GMtoppickhis skin. He tied the latex then grabbed a Kleenex from the small table in the corner, wrapped it up, and tossed it in the waste basket.
Pushing to her feet, she picked up her duffle bag and set it on the workout bench. “I don’t need to know that much about you to understand the symbolism of the tattoo. You’ve already tried your bodyguard dominance on me, remember?”
He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her back into his chest. “I’d say you’re the true dominant one here.” His lips skimmed along her neck. She trembled from the overwhelming emotions he surrounded her with. “I hope there will be more times for you to show me some more of your dominant side,” he whispered into her ear.
Not wanting to have a discussion about what had just happened, or what might from here on out, she laughed with little humor behind it and shoved his hands away. Turning in his arms, she brushed his cheek with her lips and lifted her bag. “You never know what could happen. But right now, I’m late for an appointment across town.”
She gave his shoulder a brief shove, causing him to take a step back. Drawing in a deep breath, Shree did her best to ignore the humming in her chest and the throbbing in her pussy.
Buck ass naked and glorious, his body sculpted so fine and beautifully, she wanted to jump him all over again. But now wasn’t the time. She wasn’t sure there ever could be another moment like this. It wouldn’t be good for her.

Mid Week Tease: “Have me figured out, do you?” #MWTease #GuardingMidnight #CanadianMuscle

MWTease15Happy Wednesday Friends! I hope everyone is doing great!

Special thanks to Sandra Bunino for rallying authors together to share teases every week.

~~~~~~~
This week’s tease comes from GUARDING MIDNIGHT. This scene is after a hot bout of sex.
The chill in the air surprised her considering sweat dampened her skin. Her whole body trembled from the adventure this man had just taken her on.
She pulled her sports bra back over her breasts and eased off his lap. On her knees, she gathered the rest of her clothes and stepped into the sweats she’d brought with her. “I can officially say my workout is finished for today.” She grinned at him over her shoulder. “That GMtoppickwas definitely better than planking or lifting weights.” Pushing her arms into the sleeves of her sweatshirt, she zipped it up, then took a long drink from her water bottle.
He chuckled as he sat up. Bloody hell and Christ almighty. How was a girl to cool off when this golden god was built like he was?
Her gaze ran over his back, in awe as she strode across the floor toward him. Her finger traced over his back, her gaze roaming the permanent ink.
Beautiful. A bald eagle covered his entire back, its wings spread out across his shoulder blades. The eagle’s beak was open, eyes as angry as the spread of its wings. It reminded her of a hunter, warning off others from coming near. The only color was the red of the Canadian flag in the bird’s tail feathers. Spectacular. “This is magnificent.”
He turned toward her. “Thanks. One of the guys in my unit does a great job. I forget it’s there sometimes.”
She continued to trace the tat as her eyes met his. “I love it. What made you decide to get one?”
Gavin shrugged. “The guys were always talking about how I was everyone’s keeper, how I constantly made sure they were taken care of. Some started calling me Guardian. The night I got this…” He lifted his shoulders. “We’d all had a long, hellish day. So much suffering over there, it seemed like it would never end. I’d pulled a guy out of a burning building, not fast enough, though, since he’d suffered third degree burns across his legs and arms by then.” He stopped. Fists clenched on his bare thighs, he closed his eyes in remembrance.
Shree shifted closer, and laid a cheek on his shoulder.
A breath shuddered through him. “But he survived, and is doing okay in Saskatchewan. The guys looked upon me like some hero out of a story. Rich, the guy who did the tat, convinced me to let him do it, to commemorate the time over there and how much they all trusted me.”
“The eagle is a protector, a guardian. Rich chose well,” she murmured against his skin. She pulled back and ran her fingers over the white skull. “Masculine, dominant, and ruler.” Leaning in, she kissed his shoulder then sat back. “I have to agree, it suits you.”
He smirked at her. “Have me figured out, do you?”
